The Project Twocans was originally founded in 2022 by graphic designer and painter Daniel Mamer, and costume designer Martine Koetz.  Two different painting techniques were mixed, showing large color fields with detailled characters and creatures. The focus of the work lies in the often contradictory relation between nature and humankind. Scaling things up or down and making the invisible visible, is one of the main topics of this project. While Daniel’s specialties were the rough outlines, blurred and expressive color structures, Martine took on the conception and the ‘naturalistic’ paintwork.

By the end of the year 2023 Daniel had to leave this realm unexpectedly. Death ends a life, but not a relationship. The love created, the ideas thought and the techniques developed, are still existing and brought to life by the continuing work of the project, which is now executed by Martine.
